So what are you afraid of?

I’ve seen hundreds and hundreds of people at seminars and at meetings and I wonder where they have disappeared to because there’s no way that many people are flipping houses.  I remember being the wide eyed beginner at the meetings.  You listen to the stories. You listen to the speakers.  You talk to the people around you.  You then ask yourself, Can I do This?

Yes you can.

Analysis Paralysis- I have fallen victim to this.  You read the books.  You attend seminars.  You go to networking events. You look at houses.  You run budgets and numbers.  It’s a bit mind boggling.  You then ask yourself, Can I do This?

Yes you can.

Hard Work- I have fallen victim to this too, literally (see this post!).  I believe this is one of the fallacies of most of the seminars. “Make Millions 2-3 hours a week!”, “Flip 100 houses a year from your office!”.  Do these head lines sound familiar?  The one thing I’ve never heard a speaker talk about is how much work investing/flipping/rehabbing takes.  I’m here to tell you, you will get out of it what you put into it.  Can you do This?

Yes you can.

There is only one real way to face the fear.  Go buy a house and get to work.  Yes, you can save some time and money by learning  a few things in a class or book but the number one way to learn anything in life is to simply do it!

How do I do this?

Don’t be afraid to ask for  help. Find a flipping partner that is experienced. Find a real estate agent familiar with Investors. Find a General Contractor you can trust.

Don’t be afraid of making mistakes.  I guarantee you, you will make mistakes! I call these educational opportunities.  I also call these “stupid taxes” that you pay.  The secret to success is trying not to pay too high a tax rate along with lowering the tax rate as you go.  Don’t you wish the IRS would do that???

To borrow a quote, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”.
